Passed away unexpectedly while sleeping on November 19, 2014, after a brief illness. Devoted husband to Julie, loving father of Jay and Ryan (Megan). Born in Viola, Wisconsin, to the late Sydney and Phyllis (nee Swancutt) on May 14, 1947. Further survived by John (Janet), David (Debbie), and many beloved relatives.
A graduate of UW-La Crosse, Fred worked for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue from 1973-1994, then left to pursue private assessment work. Fred truly enjoyed working in this field, with a particular interest in case law. He made many lifelong friendships in his career.
Fred loved fishing anywhere that no one could find him. Trips to Canada with family and up north with his buddies were cherished events. He played bass guitar in a band for many years, and loved to tell stories about Phil, Marty, and the boys. Fred's passion for music endured throughout his life.
Most gratifying were his children, Jay and Ryan. Fred was very proud of their perseverance and successes. He also found joy in watching their friends grow over the years. More than anything, Fred loved being a father.
