dist Church in Chariton where she was active in several groups. She was especially fond of working with the library committee. Hope was an accomplished artist. She was proficient with several methods but grew to enjoy and prefer watercolors. One of her greatest joys was being a member of the Dipsy Dabblers Art Workshop. Hope loved her Chariton home. She enjoyed raising flowers which thrived under her care whether they were in her home or yard. She stayed in her home until it became necessary for her to move to the Legacy Lodge. When she had to leave there she then was moved to Highland Oaks in Elgin, Illinois in January of 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Gildroy in 1970 and his wife DeVee in 2001, her sister Margaret Johnson in 1993, her brother-in-law, Renus W. Johnson in 1979, and her nephew James R. Johnson in 2000. She is survived by her nephew Robert (Bob) Johnson and his wife Sue Piper Johnson of Elgin, Illinois, and their children Anne Veague and her husband Rick, Eric Johnson and his wife Ann, and Amy Johnson and her husband Vernon Hartman. Also by Carol (Jim) Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska and their children Gillian White and her husband Michael, and Peder Johnson and his wife Emily. Also a niece Shirley Gildroy as well as ten great- nieces and nephews.
