Allan K. Scidmore

Madison - Allan K. Scidmore, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Attic Angel Place. He was born on March 11, 1927 in North Dakota. Allan received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Dakota, and went on to receive a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Allan received his Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in Electrical Engineering. He was enlisted with the U.S. Army for two years. On August 20, 1953, Allan was united in marriage to Barbara Pomeroy. Allan was a professor of Electrical Engineering at UW-Madison for 57 years, where he received outstanding teaching awards. Allan was a member of Madison Area Radio Control Society. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed flying model airplanes and bowling on a league. Allan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; his four children, Keith (Carrie), David (Brenda), Robert (Ann), and Virginia (Tim) Gillham; his grandchildren, Evelyn, David, Kenneth (Emily), and Jennifer Scidmore; and his great-grandchild, Theodore Scidmore.
