Mrs Helen Brink Bishop, formerly of New London Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 25th, at Park Place nursing facility in Monroe Georgia.
She was born on March 10th, 1919 in New London to Paul and Bessie McKinnon Brink. She graduated from Burlington Hospital School of Nursing. She worked 38 years in New London for Doctors F.R Mehler, Dr. Robert Stolley, Dr Harry Readinger, and Dr William Vaughn. Helen was married to Francis Clair Bishop of Marengo, Iowa on May 7th, 1946, he pre-deceased her in 1972.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Bontrager and son-in-law, Greg of Monroe, Georgia; one granddaughter, Jane Root and husband, Doug; two great granddaughters, Riley and Elizabeth of Decatur, GA; and several nieces, and nephew, and great nieces and great nephews. Helens parents and two sisters, Wilma Gibbs and Edna Wright pre-deceased her.
Mrs Bishop was a member of the United Methodist Church of New London, a 50 year plus member of Eastern Star and a member of Chapter EV, PEO.
