t kept her busy including bowling, gardening (she was especially proud of her tomatoes and green beans), golfing and enjoyed tending to the yard and her beautiful flowers. Dorothy was an avid walker, loved to travel taking many bus trips with Martin, enjoyed coffee time with the "bank ladies" she had worked with throughout the years, and spending time with friends and family. After retirement she also worked on a part-time basis at the front desk of the Suburban Motel welcoming guests to Emmetsburg. Shortly before moving to Pella Dorothy and Martin would enjoy Friday morning breakfast with their close neighborhood friends at the casino. In October 2011, Dorothy and Martin moved to Vriendschap Village in Pella, IA to be closer to Gary and Karen. During the short three years they lived there, they made many close friends at the Village and thoroughly enjoyed discussing the day's news at coffee time each morning. Dorothy passed away on December 31, 2014 at the Comfort House in Pella, Iowa at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husbands Neil (1958) and Martin (2014); parents Alfred and Beulah; brother Kenneth; nephew Ron, and many brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Karen of Pella, IA; a sister Ione Kenne; two sister-in-laws: Ruth Nelson, Elsie Eischen; and many nieces and nephews.
