Debra K. Burmahl Hall

Debra K. Hall, 52, of Escondido, California, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015. A celebration of Debra's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 31, 2015, from the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. Debra Kay Burmahl was born on February 12, 1962 to Willis and Marcella (Westphal) Burmahl. She graduated from Maquoketa High School and then from Mount Mercy College with a BSN. She was a dedicated nurse in the Hospice field, most recently with Seasons Hospice in Rancho Bernardo. She was also a very devoted wife and mother. Debra married Quongee David Hall on October 6, 1990 and to this union Kaitlyn Leilani was born. Deb was a very loving and giving person. She loved life to the fullest and loved to travel with her husband and daughter. She especially loved to go to Hawaii where she could see the beautiful waterfalls that she so much enjoyed. isit. She had a very special bond with the people and co-workers at Seasons Hospice in Rancho Bernardo. Debra attended the Grace Lutheran Church of Escondido. Funeral services were held there on Friday, January 23. Those left to honor Debra's memory include her husband of 25 years, Quongee David Hall of Escondido, CA; daughter, Kaitlyn Hall of Escondido, CA; mother, Marcella Burmahl of Maquoketa, IA; brother David (Angie) Burmahl of Baldwin, IA; two nephews Drew and Jacob Burmahl and one niece Ellie Burmahl. She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Burmahl on August 31, 1987. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Debra K. Burmahl Hall memorial fund has been established.
