He is further survived by nieces and nephews: Ben (Sharon) Goodwin & family, OK, Sara (Dave Johnson) Goodwin, OR, John Biskup TX, Andy (Jen) Zalewski OR, Jill (Nick) Giovas & sons, Brian (Cori Roach) Zalewski & Ziggy. Jack played cello in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 35 years, retiring in 2006. He toured with Mitch Miller with the MSO. Jack toured with the MSO to Europe, Japan, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and many locations in the U.S. The MSO played Carnegie Hall for many years. Jack taught cello at Valparaiso University and was a member of the Faculty String Quartet (1964-1965). He played with orchestras in Texas, Memphis, and .others before joining the MSO. Jack played with the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra for a few years after his MSO retirement. Jack taught at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and UW Oshkosh for many years. He was an avid bicyclist, hiker and cross country skier for most of his life. Jack enjoyed motorcycle rides across the U.S. and Canada. He hiked across England following the path that John Hillaby took. He hiked parts of the Grand Canyon and the Alps. (www.upaf.org). A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Patio Hall, 601 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI from 2:00 - 6:00. Jack's family wants to thank all the staff at Gables on the Pond and Hospice Advantage for their wonderful care, concern, love and support of Jack. He truly had a cherished family at Gables.
