Dean E. Burmeister STOCKTON, Iowa -- Dean E. Burmeister, 65, of Stockton, died on Friday, January 23, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, after a brief illness. Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Inurnment will take place in Durant Cemetery. Dean was born on July 23, 1949, in Davenport, the son of Forrest and Arloine Arp Burmeister, and was raised on a farm near Stockton. Dean attended Stockton grade school through the 4th grade, Durant Elementary from 5th through 8th grade, West Junior High in Muscatine for 9th grade and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1968 and from the University of Iowa in 1972 with BA in History. Dean farmed the family farm in Muscatine and Scott Counties his entire life. He enjoyed reading, listening to music and trivia. Dean is survived and lovingly remembered by his brothers, Jon Burmeister and wife, Patty, of Beaumont, Texas, and Neil Burmeister of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.
