Larry Earl King, 62, of Montrose, passed away on January 26, 2015, at Keokuk Area Hospital. Larry was born in Keokuk on April 7, 1952, to Denzel and Bernice Clark King. On June 8, 1982, he was united in marriage to Patsy Ferrell in Keokuk. She survives. Larry was a life-long resident of the Montrose/Keokuk area and a member of the First Baptist Church of Keokuk. He was employed at Shellor-Globe and Henniges for forty years, where he later retired. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union, the Steel Workers Union, and the ABATE Motorcycle Club. Larry loved to ride his motorcycle, and enjoyed NASCAR, RC car oval track racing, and all kinds of sports. Larry is survived by his wife Patsy, his mother Bernice of Keokuk; his daughters Melinda (George) Gimbel of Keokuk and Terri Jo (Steven) Maas of Fort Dodge, Iowa; his son Michael (Angie) Peterson of Lubbock, Texas. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, three great-granchildren, and two brothers: Kerry (Karin) King and Denzel King (Iris Ackley). urday, January 31, 2015, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers at 917 Blondeau Street, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Visitation hours for friends and family will be held from 1 to 3 PM directly before the service. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
