Donna Jean (Pulsifer) Pierce, the beautiful daughter of Juanita (Jolly) and Claude Pulsifer, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 15th 2015. Donna Jean (Pulsifer) Pierce was born on July 4th 1932 in McFall, Missouri. She graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1950. On September 2nd 1950, she married Rex Pierce in Shenandoah where they spent the 58 years of their marriage. To this union, three daughters were born; Cindi, Linda and Kelli. Donna and Rex were the owners of Rex's T.V. and Appliance for many years and farmed near Farragut. More recently, Donna enjoyed working at Shenandoah Floral, as a salesperson for E.K. Premium Seed Company and at Iowa Western Community College. Donna often referred to herself as a "pioneer woman" who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. She loved reading western novels, sitting in the sun and being on the go. Donna loved people and you could often find her going on outings with her sisters-in-law, having dinner with old school mates or immersing herself in the wonderful chaos of the large and loving Buttry family. tephanie, an artist who has written songs and plays based upon her life and stories. She frequently visited her daughters in Omaha, moved into her own apartment and took her first flight to New York City. She was also thrilled to take on the role of great grandma with the birth of Lennon. Donna will be remembered for her energy, charisma, kindness and love of family. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Rex, along with many other beloved family members. Donna is survived by her daughters; Cindi Dodd and husband Steve of Fremont, NE, Linda Whitehill and husband Al of Omaha, NE and Kelli Nesmith of Omaha, NE; three granddaughters; Stephanie Dodd and husband Justin Badger of Boulder, CO, Shelby Owens and husband Rob of Fremont, NE, Allison Wertz and husband Adam of Omaha, NE; great granddaughter; Lennon Olivia Wertz of Omaha, NE; one sister; Sandra Kuntzweiler of Fayetteville, AR; brother-in-law; Code Pierce and wife Wava of Sidney, IA and sister-in-law; Colleen Pierce of Malvern, IA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families and friends who are too numerous to name, but were truly loved by Donna. Memorials are being directed to the family. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa.
