Lela H. Siebrands, 98, of Dumont, Iowa passed away February 18, 2015, at the Dumont Wellness Center. She was born March 13, 1916, to Claus and Reka (Lursen) Miller. She was united in marriage on November 11, 1936, in Kesley, Iowa to Arthur Siebrands. Art and Lela first lived on a farm north of Kesley and then moved to a farm south of Dumont. They moved to Dumont in 1963. Lela began working for the Dumont Wellness Center and retired after working there for 33 years. She was a hard worker and always did her job with a smile. Lela taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Dumont Reformed Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. Lela is survived by her son Jim Siebrands of Dumont, granddaughter Kimberly (Jeff) Marchant of Indianola, granddaughter Kathy (Jason) Schipper of Leighton; great-grandsons Blake and Austin Marchant of Indianola and Joseph and Adam Schipper of Leighton. Lela is preceded in death by her husband Art, daughter-in-law Dorothy, and her brothers Fay, Kenneth, Harold, Donald, and Delos.
Burial will take place in the Dumont Cemetery.[more]
