Kathryn 'Kathy' Ruth Moore

Kathy Moore COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa -- Kathryn "Kathy" Ruth Moore, 68, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Colonial Manor. Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. The Stacey-Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. "Kathy" was born on May 24, 1946, in Ames, the daughter of Henry Paul and Julia Etta Stone Shoeman. On December 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Steven C. Moore in West Bend. Education played a central role in Kathy's life. She earned both undergraduate and master's degrees in education from the University of Iowa. She then taught in the Mediapolis and Columbus Junction public schools for more than thirty years, and spent the last several years of her career as a practicum and student teacher supervisor for the University of Iowa College of Education. She was also a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church, T.T.T. and the board of the Columbus Junction Public Library.
