Brian John Gute CARROLL, Iowa--Brian John Gute, 47, of Carroll and formerly of Omaha, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll. Rev. Cindy Johnson will officiate. Casket bearers will be Gary Heuton, Steven Schmidt, Darrell Liechti, Dean Gute, Doug Engel, Brad McLaughlin, Lance Neve, and Andy Kroupa. Burial will take place in Carroll City Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the church. Brian was born on June 14, 1967, in Carroll, the son of Frank J. and Vi Heuton Gute. He grew up in Muscatine and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1986. He then attended AIB in Des Moines and earned an Associate Degree in Business. Most recently, Brian worked for Wesco Distribution in Omaha as a regional commodity manager. ian is survived by two daughters: Anli and Carli Gute of Omaha; his special friend Kayla Gute of Omaha; his parents Frank and Vi Gute of Carroll; a sister Beth Schmidt and her special friend Darrell Liechti of Carroll; a nephew Steven Schmidt and his wife Sarah of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his niece and Godchild Lauren Schmidt and Grandparents: Frank and Mary Gute and Clarence and Lorraine Heuton.
