Josephine Carmer

Mrs. Josephine Carmer of Seymour passed away on March 11, 2015 at Seymour Crossing. Mrs. Carmer was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 20, 1923 to the late Alvin Eugene and Ethel Marie (Woodson) Spencer. She was the widow of Roy Carmer who passed in 1991. She worked in the kitchen at the Elks Lodge for over 20 years. She was an excellent cook and she loved her family. She is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia (Larry) Trueblood and Maria Morris, 1 son, Jerry (Judith) Carmer, along with 7 grandchildren: Merrill Gudgel, Bonnie Marcum, Sidney Gudgel, Ron Gudgel, Julie Otte, Joanna Garrett, Jane Hays, 14 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Timothy Lynn Carmer, son-in-law Sammy Morris, 1 great-granddaughter, and 1 great-grandson. Services will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Voss Chapel with Deacon Larry French officiating. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery. Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2-5 pm on Sunday March 15, and Monday after 10 am until the time of service. Memorials may be written to Riley Children's Hospital. [more]
