Dorothy A. Wegener

Dorothy A. Wegener, 78, Green Bay, was peacefully called home by our Lord surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born on October 27, 1936, in Birnamwood, WI, to Nic and Adeline (Bauch) Christl. She grew up in Green Bay and graduated from East High School. Dorothy married Mayford "Bud" Wegener on August 16, 1958 in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1994. They were married for 35 years where they raised their family, built their cabin and enjoyed the northwoods. Dorothy worked until she was 70 years' old cleaning homes. She loved crocheting, Packer games, bowling, golf, spending time up north around the campfire (EI, EI, EI, O), fishing and wildlife. Most important she cherished watching her grandchildren grow up. She will remain in the hearts of her four children, Brenda (Joe) Hanna, Perry (Beth) Wegener, Scott (Sue) Wegener and Bob (Sue) Wegener; grandchildren, Rick (Amanda) Devroy, Chris Devroy, Danielle Wauters, Casey and Samantha Wegener, Nick (Jessica) Wegener, Luke Wegener, Weston & Erin Wegener, Brandon, Matt and Travis Hanna; great-grandchildren, Hailey Merryfield and Brayden Wegener. Dorothy will be welcomed home by her husband; parents; grandchildren, Lillian Wegener and Alan Wegener Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 21, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida Street, from 9:30am until the funeral service at 11:00am with Reverend Paul Pett officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Symco, Wisconsin. A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name. The family wishes to express a special Thank you to the doctors and caring nurses at St. Mary's ICU.
