Arlene M. Stemmerman, 88, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, at her home in Hampton. She was born on January 23, 1927, in Allison, Iowa, to Alfred and Elsie (DeBower) Folkers. Arlene graduated from Allison High School. She was united in marriage to Erwin Stemmerman on February 22, 1948, in Allison. Arlene was a homemaker and worked in the dietary department at Franklin General Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton, was a member of the Hampton Senior Center and was a former member of the Franklin General Hospital Auxiliary. Arlene enjoyed cooking, gardening and vacationing with her husband and children. She is survived by her daughter Janell and husband Darrel Brinkman of Hampton, son Gary and wife Pamela Stemmerman of Mason City, granddaughter Christina Barnish of Mason City, grandson Charles and wife Sheila Barnish of Mason City, nine great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, sister Evelyn Van Raden of Greene, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Elsie, husband Erwin and sister Norma Johnson.
