William "Bill" Grosse MUSCATINE, Iowa--William "Bill" Grosse, age 71 + 353 days (born on April 8, 1943), died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, in hospice care at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a two year battle with cancer. Services will be held at a later date in Madison, Wisconsin. A local gathering will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the family in Bill's name. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to all who helped with Bill's tender care, especially to Dr. Feeley and Dr. Watkins and each of their staff. Bill was born in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Adeline and Arthur Grosse. He attended St. James grade school, Edgewood High School, U.W. Madison and graduated from U.W. Platteville. After graduation, he started working at ALLSTEEL in Aurora, Illinois. In 1998, Bill and his wife, Mary Anne moved to Muscatine and Bill became an IT Manager at HNI, retiring after 43 years. anything. He was well respected for his honesty, loyalty, patience and sense of humor. He loved his new Corvette and had been a member of the Fox Valley Corvette Club in Batavia, Illinois. He was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Packer fan. He also enjoyed gardening and carving spectacular pumpkins, golfing with Tom, going to the Brew with Mike, and having lunches with his staff. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Grosse; two daughters, Kristin Grosse of Chicago, Illinois, and Melinda Grosse of Aurora, Illinois, and her children, Nick, Parker, Mitchell, Nathan and Samantha; Mary Anne's son, Brian Kirley and wife, Debra, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, and their children, Megan, Chris, Josh, and Gabi, and grandchild, Autumn Rose; Mary Anne's daughter, Kristi Gardner and husband, Jeff, of Columbia, Missouri, and their children, Patrick, Nicholas, Luke and Mary; a brother, Rick Grosse and wife, Karen, of Green Lake, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Mary Grosse of Hudson, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim.
