The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the church. Joyce-Alesch Funeral Home of Graettinger is handling the arrangements. Ronald Eugene Hampson was born December 27, 1935, in a farmhouse near Terril, IA, the son of Merle and Roberta (Brinkley) Hampson. Ron Attended Cylinder Schools before working on the family farm. He worked with his dad until he met the love of his life, June. On July 20, 1956, Ron was united in marriage to June Bannister at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Ron worked at many places over the years in Emmetsburg, Estherville and Spencer. He worked at the city of Emmetsburg, The Good Samaritan Home, John Morrell (31 years), Shoppers Supply, EPS, Wells Fargo (security guard), SNC Mfg., Iowa Office Supply and I.E.I. Ron also mowed lawns and could always find a way to stay busy. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting his many friends and neighbors. his children and all of his grandchildren. Ron was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger. On Saturday, March 28, 2015, Ron passed away at his home surrounded by family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, June of Graettinger; seven children: Kathy Hasbrouck (Charles) of Cedar Rapids, Debra Poland (Tom) of Hartley, Nancy Davis of Maple Hill, Ted Hampson of Wallingford, Andy Hampson of Graettinger, Joanna Buhr (Chad) of Terril, and Ben Hampson of Primghar; brother, Richard Hampson (Brenda) of Le Grange, GA and sister, Georgia Dykhuis (Roger) of Des Moines; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchildren.
