Donna Mae Rorah, 80, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away on Thursday evening, April 9, 2015, at the Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of Donna's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Donna Mae Flagel was born on June 27, 1934 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Gordon and Alverda (Gnade) Flagel. She grew up in Andrew and was a graduate of Andrew High School. She married Wayne Rorah on March 4, 1951 in Andrew, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1974. Donna had first worked as a nurses aide at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa. She then worked for Dr. M.L. Bernard in Maquoketa for many years as an optometric assistant, and lastly for Iowa Electric in Maquoketa for over ten years as a secretary/office assistant. Those left to honor Donna's memory include her 4 children, Deb (Ron) Burnett of Maquoketa, IA, Dennis (Connie) Rorah of Delmar, IA, Greg (Mary Lou) Rorah of Delmar, IA, and Glendy (Matt) Renwick of Charlotte, NC; a sister Karen Ganzer of Spragueville, IA; brothers Donald Flagel of Maquoketa, IA, Gary (Anette) Flagel of Davenport, IA, and Arlen (Michele) Flagel of Maquoketa, IA; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Traci) Lehman, Lesley (Chris) Ortner, Abby (Jon) Skrivseth, Amy (Chris) Kozak, Ali (Bryan) Bolin, Luke Rorah, Whitney Rorah, Landon Rorah, Jacob (Mandi) McAreavy, Megan (Patrick) Donnelly; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant brother Leroy, a granddaughter Nicole, and a brother-in-law Richard Ganzer.
