There will be a gathering of friends and family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Emmetsburg. Mary Margaret Kerber was born October 17, 1952 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Margaret Jeanette (Thompson) Hinrichs. She attended school in Emmetsburg, and she was a 1970 graduate of Emmetsburg High School. Mary also attended business school in Minneapolis, MN. After her education, Mary lived in Britt and worked at Winnebago in Forest City, IA before returning to the Emmetsburg/Cylinder area. Mary was always active, and she worked at many businesses in the area including: A & W, Riviera Theater, Emmetsburg Grain, Ben Franklin, Hardware Hank, Cylinder Camper Sales, Dairy Queen, bus driver for Emmetsburg Community School District, Alco, SNC Manufacturing and Skyjack. Mary also spent some time near her brothers in Omaha. Currently, Mary was living in Belle Plaine, MN where her daughter and son live. Mary was a great story teller, and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. On Saturday, April 11, 2015, Mary passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Joe Manley of Belle Plaine, Liz Klancke and her husband, Brian of Belle Plaine; two grandchildren: Bevin and Oliver Klancke of Belle Plaine; three brothers: Mike Hinrichs and his wife, Cathy of Omaha, NE, Mark Hinrichs and his wife, Lynn of Tallahassee, FL and Matt Hinrichs of Omaha, NE. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Suzanne Hinrichs. A memorial fund has been established in Mary's Name. Online condolences may be left at www.joycefuneralhomes.com.
