Leonard Apa, age 58, of the Bayville section of Berkeley Township died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at home. Born in Newark and raised in East Orange, he lived in Toms River from 1979 until moving to Bayville 8 years ago.
A union carpenter for over 40 years, affiliated with the Carpenter's Local 255, Mr. Apa was known as someone who could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand. He loved his family immensely and enjoyed restoring his 1964 Corvette and riding his Harley Davidson Low Rider.
He is survived by his wife, Julianne; three daughters, Genesia Apa, Tina Marie Apa, and Jillian Goodhew and her husband Daniel; five grandchildren, Destiny and Vincent and their father Vinnie, Isaiah, Angelia, and Joshua; and a brother, Raphael Apa, and sons.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Monday from 9:15 to 10:15am at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11:00am at St. Barnabas RC Church, Bayville. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
