Donald Albert Sobers was born on June 30, 1936 to the late Albert and Magdalena Sobers in the Republic of Panama.
He grew up in La Boca Panama and attended school in the Canal Zone. He moved to Cincinnati Ohio to join his sister Miriam and her family. In 1962 joined the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. Donald moved to Brooklyn, New York and was soon employed by the New York City Transit Authority System. He would stay with NYCTA for 25 years and retired as a Train Master.
Donald lived with his wife Norma in Queens NY until his retirement in 1992, when they then moved to Miramar Florida. Donald enjoyed traveling, working in the garden, doing crosswords, putting together picture puzzles, and tinkering in the garage.
Donald was called home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2015. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 48 years Norma; three children Selina, Sarita, and Danelo, His sister Miriam, five grandchildren Shawn, Johnathan, Jheydan, Janai, and Jada, eight great-grandchildren Chyna, Nhala, DaZhane, Armani, Jewel, Kamorah, Angelina, and Johnathan Jr. His nephew Guillermo, numerous relatives and friends.
