William "Bill" R. Kruse, age 84, of Green Bay, died on Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born December 8, 1930 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Grover and Florence (Schultz) Kruse. Bill married Shirley Garot. She preceded him in death in 1949. He later married Elizabeth Sarkis in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2010. Bill was employed for 40 years as a supervisor for Fort Howard Paper Company, retiring in 1990. He had a great sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. Bill was a man of few words but taught by example. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He always put his family first with constant love and support as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Bill was a true conservationist and outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of "Trout Unlimited". He was a "gold member" at the Oneida Family Fitness Center and enjoyed his daily workouts there. ther, Chris Steffes, Jennifer Kruse and her fiancé, Corey Weyland; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lila Ulrich and Margaret Ulrich and one brother, Robert Kruse. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Carl, Mae, Adeline, Donald, Inez, Jeanette and Alice. Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 4:00 pm with time to share stories at 6:30 pm and a short service ending at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1167 Kenwood Street, at 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Eric Hansen officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bill's name for St. Mark Lutheran Church.
