James "Jim" Russell Jacobson, 92, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa. He was born on November 20, 1922, in Hampton, Iowa, to John and Harriet (Day) Jacobson. James graduated from Hampton High School. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. James was united in marriage to Eunice Crawford on May 2, 1948, at the Church of Christ in Hampton. He worked for the United States Post Office as a city mail carrier for over thirty years. James was a member of the American Legion and the Church of Christ in Hampton. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with family and friends. James is survived by his sons Russell (Linda) Jacobson of Urbana, Illinois, and Paul (Sue) Jacobson of Waverly, grandchildren Heather (Matt) Goergen of Bloomington, Illinois, and their son Carter; Sharon Jacobson of Champaign, Illinois, and her children Jaden, Reece and Kameron; Sarah (Jon) Bohannen of Champaign, Illinois, and their children Sydney and Lillian, niece Donna Phariss of Clear Lake, nephew Bill LaPorte of Oklahoma and niece Beverly Virgo of Raymore, Missouri.
