William L. Poulson, 92, of Fort Lauderdale, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2015. Born and raised in New Jersey, Bill fell in love with the beauty of South Florida when he did his basic training here prior to serving in the US Army during WW II. He was a decorated hero who was awarded several medals for valor, including two bronze stars. The French government also awarded him the Legion of Honor medal.
In 1959, he moved his family to Fort Lauderdale. Bill was the General Manager of the River Reach condominium community for over 25 years. He was a loving husband to Nora, his wife of 72 years; a wonderful father to William L. Poulson III (Nancy); and a devoted grandfather to William L. Poulson IV (Jennifer) of New York City.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his gentle spirit, his love of laughter, and his passion for baseball.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 23, 2015, from 10:00-12:00 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 718 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL, with prayer services at 12:00, followed by interment at Lauderdale Memorial Park.
