Edgar C. Le Blanc, Jr., age 95, an 11 year resident of Spring House Estates; and formerly a 47 year resident of Oreland, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lillian (nee Gagnon) Le Blanc, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a Claims Representative, employed by Social Security in Philadelphia for 26 years prior to his retirement in 1986. He is the beloved husband of 61 years of Catherine M. (nee McCool) Le Blanc. Edgar, along with his wife, Catherine, in 1976 founded Families Unite For Mental Health Rights and he served as president until 1979 when many similar local organizations merged to form the National Alliance for Mental Illness. He was a member of Holy Martyrs' Church in Oreland and served on the Pastoral Council and as a Lector and Cantor. He was a Volunteer at Springhouse Estates and was a Certified Hospice Worker.
