William Reed Smouse

A gentle, graceful man of God passed to Heaven on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. William Reed Smouse, 85, devoted husband of 61 years to his wife Ann, and most precious father to his four daughters, Sandy (Spinella), Beth (Davidson), Kim (Collette) and Leigh Anne (Costello). "Dr. Mouse" practiced pediatrics in Fort Lauderdale for 45 years with his mentor and friend Charles Seymour, and always kept his smallest patients in the forefront of his love for medicine and science. Loved deeply by his wife Ann from the moment they met, her heart beats only for him every day. A beautiful dad to his girls, he lived kindness, wisdom and unconditional love in every way to his family. Dr. Smouse graduated from West Virginia University and Medical College of Virginia and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Swan, of North Augusta, South Carolina.
