Lenard J. LaBonte

Lenard J. LaBonte, age 49, Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. He was born on May, 16, 1966 in Norway, Michigan to Lemrod and Ethel (McGuire) LaBonte. Lenard graduated from North Central High School in Powers, Michigan with the class of 1984. Lenard proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1984 until his retirement in 2004 as a Petty Officer First Class. Throughout his time in the Navy he visited various countries, lived in several states, and served on multiple ships including the U.S.S. Ranger and U.S.S. John F. Kennedy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate. He later was a drill instructor at the Great Lakes Naval Station. After Lenard's retirement from the Navy he worked for over 15 years as a supervisor at Home Depot in Green Bay. On March 10, 1989, Lenard married Laura "Lori" Montez in San Diego. He was an avid, Packers, Brewers, and University of Michigan fan. He enjoyed playing basketball, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by three infant siblings, Harold, Larry, and Cynthia; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Family and friends may call Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a prayer service and sharing of memories at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in Spalding Township Cemetery in Spalding Michigan on Friday at 1:00 pm Central Standard Time. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his children.
