John C. Cameron, 3rd, 45, of Town & Country, Missouri, died on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at NHC Health Care, Town & County, Missouri. John was born February 15, 1970, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of John C. and Marilyn Ludwick Cameron, Jr. John lived in St. Francisville until he joined the United States Army at 18, a member of Echo Company. He was active in the Gulf War, turning 21 in Iraq. After being honorably discharged, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as a program coordinator with TrailNet planning and coordinating biking routes for the St. Louis area. John was a member of S.L.A.G. (Saint Louis Adventure Group) and was a leading advocate for the St. Louis biking community. He was in Boy Scouting and was a Boy Scout Leader. At age 18 he received his Eagle Badge. John was also a member of the Silver Tomahawk Order of the Arrow Camping Society. John had friends from various walks of life and many parts of the world who were truly beloved by him. two nephews, Cameron Greer of Wayland, Missouri and Tyler John Sparks of La Crosse, Wisconsin; six aunts, Joan Arnot of Agency, Iowa, Ruth Ludwick of Gorin, Missouri, Carol (Rudy) Matta of Toledo, Iowa, Janet Cameron of Keokuk, Iowa, Jeanne (Marc) Albertin of Atlanta, Illinois, and Claire (Dick) Schmidt of Lincoln, Illinois, one uncle, Lawrence Cameron of Keokuk, Iowa; and several cousins. John was preceded in death by his father John C. Cameron; his paternal grandparents John and Vera Repplinger Cameron; maternal grandparents Claude and Mabel Watkins Ludwick; uncles: Kenneth Ludwick, Gail Ludwick, Eston "Pete" Peterie and Wesley Arnot. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 13, 2015, at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, Missouri. Visitation will be after 3:00 pm on Friday with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers located at 1212 Concert St. in Keokuk. There will be a Christian Vigil Service before the visitation at 4:00. Memorials may be made to ALSA or Boy Scout Troop 145.
