DeAnna LeKander, 40, of Carson, IA, passed away June 12, 2015 at the CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Carson United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson. Memorials: Directed to the family. Some of the funds will be used towards a combined scholarship fund with her late brother Daniel Reason, through the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation for Riverside Students. DeAnna Ranae LeKander, daughter of Raymond Marion and Evelyn Jo (Miller) Blanchard, was born on December 22, 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from the Carson-Macedonia High School in 1993. DeAnna graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa 1995 and from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in Bloomington as an ultrasound tech. Ann, at the age of 15 months. Lily Ann became the whole family's pride and joy. DeAnna was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church. She kept busy with her daughter's activities and enjoyed crafting with her. DeAnna also enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening. She was a wonderful wife, mom, daughter and a good friend to all who knew and loved her. DeAnna suffered through many illnesses the past eight years, but did find peace with the Lord's help and from her family and friends. Due to her declining health, she left the medical field and had been employed as a clerk at the Rolling Hills Bank in Carson. DeAnna passed away on June 12, 2015 at CHI Alegent Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 40 years, 5 months, and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her brother Daniel Ray Reason; grandfather Jack Miller, grandparents, Marion and Verona Blanchard and LeRoy and Marjorie Reason; and brother-in-law Douglas LeKander. DeAnna is survived by her husband Brett LeKander and daughter Lily Ann of Carson; parents, Raymond and Evelyn Blanchard of Carson; grandparents, Cleda and Delbert Palmer of Council Bluffs; in-laws, Neil and Patricia LeKander of Smith River, CA; father Kimber Reason of Redfield, IA; extended relatives; and many friends.
