Being a longtime resident of the Grafton area, Eddie was active in various organizations to include AFS, Kiwanis, Lions Club, Family Sharing and was on the Village of Grafton Board of Trustees. Being active within the church in which he was a member was important to him. He was instrumental in the expansion and building project in which Family Sharing now calls home in the Village of Grafton. His building experience and skills led him to mission projects in Bonaire and also with Village Missionaries, Inc. Eddie had a wide variety of interests to include nature, extensive domestic and international travel with his wife Kathie, tennis, music, theater and the arts, reading, playing games and even some politics. Good conversation, entertaining or just being with family and friends were some of the joys he frequently expressed as having thorough enjoyment from. Many special moments were shared at their cottage on Elkhart Lake to include times spent on his pontoon boat known as "Daddy's Delight". The four very apparent priorities in both Eddie and Kathie's lives that were obvious at the surface throughout the years were faith, family, friends and fun. They truly loved people and had a genuine interest in them. Early on, after leaving the Two Rivers/Manitowoc area, Eddie took an apprenticeship in carpentry often traveling with his tools on the Electric Interurban Railway System which eventually led them to settling in the Grafton area. Over many years of hard work and dedication, the company known as the E.J. Sinkular Construction & Design became known as a source of quality building both residentially and commercially. He was of the old school where quality, honesty, integrity and fair dealing were an essential ingredients to having those you serve becoming your friends rather than just making a buck. He was of a time when a hand shake and a promise were all that were needed, truly a lost era no longer present today. He so often commented on how fortunate he was to have such a wonderful crew that worked with him on a day to day basis. From his longtime fellow carpenters, painters, finishers, masons and concrete specialists, electricians and all those involved in the process of building, he often commented about them and how close knit the relationships were in working together. He was a Patriot and WWII Army Veteran having served in New Guinea/Southern Philippines/Luzon receiving many ribbons, medals, awards and service bars for his Service. Eddie will be missed by family, friends and those who came across his path over the years to truly get to know him. He ran the race that was set before him, he kept the faith, has finished well and has claimed his prize. While his temporal journey here on earth has ended, life has truly just begun. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 6 PM on Monday, July 27th at Friedens Church 454 North Milwaukee Street in Port Washington, WI 53074. Cards and notes may be addressed to the family in care of the church or if attending, there is a time of family visitation being held from 4 PM to the time of service. There will be fellowship and refreshments after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Friedens Church in memory of Eddie would be appreciated. Eernisse Funeral Homes is serving the family with his cremains being placed adjacent to his dear Katherine's in the columbarium nestled amidst the beautiful rose garden of Bellevue Heights Church just a few blocks from where they resided in Sun City, AZ.
