Rebecca Tucker

Rebecca Mae Tucker, 93, of Washington and formerly of Burlington, died at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Halcyon House in Washington. Born December 1, 1916 in Denmark, she was the daughter of Irven and Bertha Eoff Williams. On March 25, 1936 she married Bernerd F. Tucker in Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1984. Mrs. Tucker was a Denmark Academy High School graduate. She lived in Denmark for 36 years, Green Bay Bottoms for three years, Burlington for 44 years and the past ten years in Washington. She was a Deputy Clerk of Court for Des Moines County for 14 years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Denmark Congregational Church and later a member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington, Kings Daughters and United Methodist Women. She loved babies, children and Christmas. She had a great smile. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Tucker will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Michael Orthel will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, rural Denmark at a later date. A memorial has been established for Halcyon House, Washington.
