Mrs. Dorothy I. Lawson, formerly of Port Washington and Texas, passed away Thursday morning, August 13, 2015 at Belgium Gardens where she had resided the last 7 years. She was 92 years old. Dorothy was born March 10, 1923 in Two Rivers, the daughter of Frederick and Ethel (nee Demsien) Hartman. After graduating from high school in Two Rivers, Dorothy moved to Texas where she lived for the next 40+ years. In 1968, she was united in marriage with Herbert Thompson. He preceded her in death. Dorothy worked as a waitress for Denny's Restaurant. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and playing dominos and cards. Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law Adela Hartman and two nieces: Melinda Hartman and Rachel Hartman, other extended relatives and many friends at Belgium Gardens. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert, brother Richard Hartman, sister Lucille Krescheck, and many members of her Belgium Gardens family. A private memorial service will be held, and Dorothy will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington.
