John H. Jahaly, age 80, of the Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Township died on Monday, October 26, 2015 at home. Born in Peters Hall, Guyana, he came to the United States in 1979, settling in Yonkers, NY. He lived in Yonkers until moving to Toms River in 2007.
Mr. Jahaly was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association, New York, and the International Union of Operating engineers Local 30, Jamaica, NY. He worked as an engineer for Refined Sugars, Yonkers, for many years until retiring in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, John and his wife Tonia of Yonkers, Sheri O'Donnell and her husband Jason of Jackson, Raymond and his wife Kristina of Katonah, NY, and Gregory and Patricia of Mt. Vernon, NY; six grandchildren, Madeline, Dakota, Dallas, Claire, Hudson, and Olivia; his sister, Muriel Jahaly, and many nieces and nephews.
