John F. "Jack" Gaffney

John F. "Jack" Gaffney, Esq., Age 82 of Ambler, died unexpectedly Tuesday October 27, 2015 at Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA. Born in 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Kathryn (née McMahon) Gaffney and the devoted husband of wife Mary C. (née Higgins) Gaffney, who died in 2009. Jack is survived by his children Beth (Richard) Mohr of Oreland, John (Susan) Gaffney of Westwood, MA, Paul (Kristen) Gaffney of Montgomery Township, Mary Kathryn (Scott) Hendrickson of Philadelphia, Kathleen Gaffney of New York, NY and Susan (Kevin) Fissell of Stamford, CT. He is the loving grandfather of Connor Mohr; Owen, Jane, Ryan, and Declan Gaffney; Harry and Maggie Gaffney; and Nora Fissell; and brother of Kathleen (Joseph) Jaworowski of Wyndmoor, and Robert E. (MaryAnne) Gaffney of Chalfont. Jack graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School, Villanova University and Villanova University School of Law. and recently was a volunteer with the Middle Atlantic Blind Golf Association and St. Joseph Villa in Flourtown. Mr. Gaffney was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Ambler where he was a daily communicant and member of the Grandfathers' Club. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, and Tuesday, November 3 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church 259 Forest Ave. Ambler. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
