Virginia I. Rahn

Virginia I. (Cormier-Smith) Rahn, age 93, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015. She was born December 12, 1921, in Green Bay, to the late Clyde and Hulda (Greiling) Cormier. On December 11, 1943, Virginia married William C. Smith, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1948. She then married, William Rahn on March 30, 1957, in Green Bay. They celebrated 39 years of marriage together before William passed away on March 25, 1997. Virginia was a long-time member of the East and West Side Moravian Churches, where she was very involved, as church secretary and a Sunday school teacher. Virginia enjoyed baking, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family. Survivors include her three children, Kathleen (David) Engels, Virginia "Ginny" (James) Blasczyk, and Edward (Arlene) Rahn; grandchildren, Becky (James) Leurquin, Mark (Sheila) Engels, Michael, James, and Corey (Gloria) Blasczyk, and Michael (Kaitlyn), Marissa, Shelby, and Rachel Rahn; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Oneida Street, Green Bay, from 9:30 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Marian Boyle officiating. Burial will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Virginia's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora Hospice, Bellevue Retirement Center, and Dr. Violetta Minca. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for West Side Moravian Church has been established.
