Mrs. Myrtle Imogene Mathews Barrett, 74 of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away at her daughter's home in Freetown, Indiana, on November 3, 2015.
She was born May 15, 1941, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Oliver Brown Mathews, Sr., and Roxie Ferry Mathews.
She received a Technical Certificate in Nursing and worked as a Home Health Nurse for 25 years.
She is survived by her children, Michael Lynn Beavers, David Beavers, Teresa (Oddis) Freese, Albert Lee Barrett, and Myrtle Ellen Giancola; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Oliver Brown Mathews, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, James Phillip, three brothers, George Mathews, Donny Ray Mathews, and Albert Wilson Mathews; and two sisters, Eula Gray Donica and Alice King.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Voss Chapel with Rev. Kelly Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel Saturday after 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
