William "Bill" Bixby

WILLIAM BIXBY NICHOLS, Iowa - William "Bill" Hugh Bixby, 88, of Nichols, died on Friday, November 13, 2015, at his home. There will be no service or visitation. Burial will take place in Nichols Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Rosie Bixby. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com Bill was born on January 30, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Lewis Glen and Helen Ravencraft Bixby. He married Rosie Irene Doak on October 25, 1949, in Muscatine. Bill was a stone cutter for Iowa Memorial Granite Company. He left there and started Bixby Monument Company. He was a member of the Nichols Christian Church and was a US Navy veteran. He was a trapper during trapping season and enjoyed fishing. He loved the outdoors.
