Nicholas R. Tino

Nicholas R. "Nick" Tino Sr., 84 of Penllyn and formerly of Ambler died Friday in the Abington Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born in Ambler, he was the son of the late Frank and Maria Theresa (nee Russo) Tino. Nick was a member of the Ambler High School Class of 1950. He served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War. Nick started his working career as a brick layer which he did for a number of years prior to going to Barber School and opening his own shop, Nick Tino's Barber Shop, that he operated from 1962 until his retirement in 1994. Nick loved spending time with his family and always wanted to be where the action was. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, watching football and baseball. Nick was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler. Nick is the devoted father of Theresa Mattioni and her husband Chuck of Exton, PA, Nicholas R. Tino Jr. and his wife Theresa of Ambler, and Frank Tino and his wife Donna of Gilbertsville, PA.
