Mary Ellen Lawton

(Nee Wiggin) passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late James P. Lawton. Loving mother of Mike (Janet), Dave, Kate, Rich (Jina), Pete, Judy and Brian (Karen) Lawton. Proud Grandma of 13 Grandchildren. Also loved by her dear siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mary Ellen was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, and Grandmother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Nursing was her career and passion, she spent her life devoted to helping those who needed care and compassion. She touched the lives of many through her work as a volunteer and her love of reading and writing. She published a book (The Unexpected Gift) which embodied the virtue of Hope. To paraphrase: Whenever the world closes a door, God is there to open a window. We love you Mom!
