Carol Phyllis Wirtz

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church with interment following at Silver Lake Cemetery in Ayrshire. Carol Phyllis Wirtz, daughter of Leonard and Gladys (Tjebben) Kloster was born November 15, 1942 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She attended grade school in Mallard, and she was a graduate of Mallard High School. On October 26, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Ron Wirtz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard. The couple raised their two children, Deb and Jon in Emmetsburg. Carol worked in Emmetsburg at the United States Department of Agriculture for over 40 years, and she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Carol always enjoyed spending time at the lake whether it was Okoboji, Lost Island and more recently, Silver Lake where she and Ron lived. She loved to attend all of her grandchildren's school activities, and more than anything, she treasured the time she spent with her family.
