Terry K. Townsend

Terry was born in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Oxford, Mississippi when he was a small boy. He was a hard worker, working odd jobs and at times two jobs at one time. He loved to dress up. He loved to go to the movies. He loved fried chicken and chicken, rice and biscuits. He especially loved his dog, Diamond. Terry had a passion for cars and trucks. He bought an old school Silverado. He was so proud of it. When he bought it, it was leaking oil. Every day he would get off of work, stop at AutoZone, get 5 quarts of oil and work on that truck until it got dark. Every two weeks he would buy spark plugs. That made him so happy, I told him, "You are going to go up to AutoZone and your bank card won't have any money on it." But somehow, it always did. One sunny day about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, he ran into the house and said, "I fixed the truck, get Diamond and let's go for a ride." I said, "OK, let me change out of my uniform and we'll be right out." As I was changing I heard people outside yelling at Terry to get out of the truck, it was on fire.
