Richard Lester, age 99 of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at his home in Colfax. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 20, 2015, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The son of William and Ethel (Wilson) Lester, Richard was born on November 4, 1916, in Colfax, Iowa. He attended school in Colfax. On May 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Vaughan. Richard farmed his entire life. He was quite the handyman and there was nothing he couldn't fix. Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Marianne (Larry) Glasford of Colfax; two grandchildren, Eric Soutter and Kent Owens; four great grandchildren, Laci Rolfes, Dylan Soutter, Wyatt and Andrew Owens and a great great grandson, Paxson Rolfes.
