Earl R. Fakler
WINONAEarl Robert Fakler, 70, of Winona died Monday, January 19, 2015 after a brief illness at Winona Health with his family by his side.
Earl was born March 24, 1944 in Winona, MN to Roger and Lillian (Goss) Fakler of Stockton, MN. A graduate of Winona High School, Earl started his own business, Fakler Fabricating, in Stockton, MN which he operated for many years. In 1987 he married Vera Luhmann at Grace Lutheran Church in Stockton. Earl was a skilled, talented, creative man. He was a woodworker, furniture-maker, violin-maker, wood carver, and painter. He loved bird watching, fishing, hunting, motorcycling, cycling, skiing, snow-shoeing, canoeing, gardening, and much more. He was also a member of many area clubs including Lewiston Sportsman's Club, Winona Clown Club, and Audubon Society. Earl was kind, gentle, and thoughtful and loved by his family and many friends.
Earl is survived by his brother, David (Donna) Fakler of Winona; nieces, Cindy (Rick) Cesare of Brooklyn Park, MN and Christine (Michael) Wells of St. Louis Park, MN; great-nephews and nieces, Joe and Lauren Cesare, Colin Wells, and Stephanie (Peter) Steck.

Funeral services for Earl will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Watkins Manor Assisted Living with the Reverend Kevin Froelich officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the Manor. Earl will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Stockton.
The family prefers memorials be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1664 Kraemer Drive, Winona, MN 55987.
