Edward Wilson Hauck, 88, of Utica died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester.

Ed was born November 4, 1926 to Paul and Onalee (Elsom) Hauck in St. Cloud, MN. At the age of 17, Ed joined US Navy. During WWII, he served on the USS New Mexico and was witness to the Japanese surrender in September of 1945. On November 4, 1950 he married Teresa Gribnau. Together they raised nine children.

Ed was a successful and passionate farmer for most of his life. He and his wife Teresa farmed near Millville, MN and then moved to Utica in the mid-1980s. Over the years he rented many farms and at one point milked 150 head of dairy. He was co-owner of the Stockton Flour Mill and Little Dutch Creamery in Rochester where he sold organic milk and meats. He was a member of the National Farmer's Organization, Famer's Union, and American Legion in St. Charles. Ed was an energetic and outgoing kind of person who always enjoyed a good conversation. He will be greatly missed.

an (Ross) Valdez Greeley, CO, Daniel Hauck of Utica, Janet (Jay) Frandrup of Hastings, MN, and Carol (Brad) Anderson of Melrose, WI; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin Hauck; sister-in-law, Gwen Hauck; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Eujenie and Diane; granddaughter, Tasha; and siblings, Pat and Nadine.

Services for Ed will take place 11 a.m., Tuesday June 23, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Visitation will take place 5-8 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2015 at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles and one hour prior to the service at the church. Ed will be laid to rest with military honors at Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles.
