esley rented the land to his nephew, Dennis Abbas, when he retired. In his retirement, Wesley decided to get his CDL license and drive semi for Liqui-Grow in rural Hampton. Wesley had many things he loved including our Lord, farming and horses. He grew up driving his dad's draft horses and had many horses and donkeys as pets. Wesley never had a mule but always wanted one. He enjoyed attending the Waverly horse sales and never wanted to miss the annual chuck wagon races in Nashua. One thing Wesley was very proud of was the Franklin Country Fair. He called it "the best county fair in Iowa," and enjoyed helping out by moving antique farm machinery to Grandpa's Farm, driving the shuttles, and watching the teams of horses power the thrashing machine. Wesley is survived by his wife Mabel of Hampton, daughters Colette (Kevin) Westaby of Belmond, Kim Meyer of Pleasant Hill and LuJean (Bond) Meyer-Howery of Huber Heights, Ohio, grandson Jesse (Sarah) Westaby of Alexander and their children Micaiah, Hadassah, Jonas and Naomi, granddaughter Casey (Chris) LaCommare of Fullerton, California, and their children Connor and Lincoln, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lena, brothers Walter and Edmund and sister Ella Abbas.
