FILBERTO VALENZUELA JR. MUSCATINE, Iowa - Filberto Valenzuela Jr., 70, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Saint Mathias Church. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Jeffrey Valenzuela. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved to watch boxing and soccer. He coached the Muscatine Boxing club throughout his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. , Nathan, of Olathe, Kansas; his four sons, Jeffrey Valenzuela and wife, Renee, of Silvis, Illinois, Noel Valenzuela and wife, Alicia, of Moline, Illinois, Rudy Valenzuela and wife, Regina, of Muscatine and Abel Valenzuela of Muscatine; two step-sons, Pascual Magana and Juan Magana; 12 grandchildren; five brothers, Juan, Gonzalo, Ruben, Jose and Jesus Valenzuela; three sisters, Enriqueta Cavazos, Anita Valenzuela and Alicia Valenzuela; and his former wife, Maria Edna Cruz. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings in infancy.
