Diana D. Stewart

Diana D. Stewart, age 88, of Fort Washington, died peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Beatrice (nee Breen) Drueding. Diana was preceded in death by her husband John R. Stewart in 1986. Diana was never idle, she cherished and cared for her children, grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed needlework, a good book, and a walk around the neighborhood with one of her beloved dogs. She was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler where she shared her talent as a member of their Flower Committee. Diana was a past chapter president of the Needlework Guild of America, and a board member of the Drueding Foundation. Diana is survived by her children; John R. Stewart and his wife Sandra of Perkasie, Christopher W. Stewart of Wyncote, Diana Gifford Vogt and her husband Peter of Philadelphia, and Ellen Hanson and her husband Gilman also of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
