Helen F. Knight, 91, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 26, 2016, under the care of Hospice of Jackson County. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, January 31, 2016, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. Helen Frances Knight was born on June 2, 1924 in Andrew, Iowa to Peter J. and Margaret E. (Hoffman) Jorgensen. She was a 1942 graduate of Andrew High School and married Kenneth E. Knight on June 2, 1943 in Waynesville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1993. Helen had worked at Wells Bakery and then at Dolch's Bakery for many years. She also had worked on the assembly line at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for 13 years. Helen was a longtime bowler and had been a member of the Maquoketa Bowling Association for many years where she had served in many capacities including as past president, treasurer and secretary. Those left to honor Helen's memory include a son and daughter-in-law, Denny and Mary Ann Knight of Maquoketa, IA; 3 grandchildren, Jamie (and husband Jarrett Kaminsky) Knight of Mountain Top, PA, Josh (and wife Chaya) Knight of Maquoketa, IA, and Kristie (and husband Mark) Carr of Maquoketa, IA; 7 great-grandchildren, Sereina, Zaiden, Braden, Dalton, Tyson, Aliya and Jaxon; and a brother Marvin (and wife Gloria) Jorgensen of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers Glenn, Raymond, Robert, Carl and Henry, and 3 sisters Thelma, Lorraine, and Gladys.
