Regina E. Krekel

(Nee Liebenthal) age 97, died January 21, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a 54-year resident of Brown Deer. Reggie was born in West Allis, WI on December 10, 1918 to Edward and Martha Liebenthal (Nee Kaun). She was preceded in her death by her loving husband, Howard R. Krekel. They were married in Milwaukee in April of 1949 at the Church of the Reformation. Beloved mother of Tom (Gail) Krekel of Albuquerque, Cathy Krekel of Wheaton, IL, Peter Krekel (Joanna Diamond) of Nashville. Cherished grandmother of Christine (Alwyn) Koil of Albuquerque and great-grandmother to their three children Caleb, Violet and Silas. Also survived by her brother Ben Liebenthal of Sebring, Florida and by many nieces and nephews. Reggie was preceded in death by brother Maynard, twin brother Edward, and sisters Emily Arndt, Lillian Jens, Violet Dutcher, Marie Biven and Irene Liebenthal. Regina grew up in East Troy, WI and graduated during WWII from what's known today as UW-Whitewater. She taught school in Marengo, Illinois and at Juneau High School in Milwaukee before devoting her life to raising her family in Brown Deer. Visitation on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 5214 West Luebbe Lane, Milwaukee, WI, (51st and Bradley) beginning at 10AM with a Memorial Service at 11AM. Burial following at 2PM at the Hales Corners Cemetery next to the Emanuel United Church of Christ, 10627 West Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners, WI.
